BOTH HANDS PROJECT

We are set to do a Both Hands fundraiser on June 26th. Have you ever heard of Both Hands(www.bothhandsfoundation.org)? It is an awesome ministry that helps adoptive families fundraise. It is much like raising support if you were in a 5K or a golf tournament where the proceeds go to help a charity. However, in this case the charity is our adoption and the event is providing labor on a widow's home. So in essence when someone donates money they are helping both a widow and an orphan (hence the name).

The average amount of money that is being raised doing a Both Hands project is around $10,000!! This would be a huge boost to our fundraising. Lifesong For Orphans also gave us a $5000 matching grant, so our total could be $15,000 - it might actually be the last fundraiser we'll have to do!!

Now, our part is to come up with a team of 10-15 members and each of those people will send out letters to their circle of friends. We hope to send out 400-500 letters. Another plus is that the money donated is tax deductible. Then, on June 26th, our team will assemble and have a workday repairing the widow's house. Usually all the supplies are donated by local vendors, which means every dollar raised goes straight to our adoption.

I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the date of our workday!
